Nobody likes rude behaviour. Think of texting during meetings, interrupting an important meeting to answer the phone, etc. Polite behaviour and good manners, on the other hand, can significantly improve the atmosphere. Not only that, but it is also good for productivity.
According to Australian research, productivity decreases due to rude behaviour. A single misplaced comment from a manager is enough to reduce engagement immediately. New research from the Baylor University Hankamer School of Business shows that rude behaviour at work also has consequences outside work. An employee who experiences rude behaviour at work often takes it out on his or her partner, who then takes it out on his or her own colleagues.
It, therefore, seems highly advisable to nip rude behaviour in the bud as soon as you notice it.
